TRAVEL REPORT LONDON - JORDAN - PALESTINE - ISRAEL - LIVERPOOL - MANCHESTER

8. There is no possibility to change money at Amman North Station. You have to go downtown with a white collective taxi (it is not easy to find the right one) for the price of half a Jordanian Dinar or with a private yellow taxi for the price of 2 or 3 Jordanian Dinars.

9. I chose the cheapest hostel in Amman. It's called Sun Rise Hotel, it costs 1 Jordanian Dinar per night and they make you sleep on the terrace on a mattress and pillow on the floor without sheets and blankets. It is located in Abdali, in the square where there was the old bus station and where the flea market still exists on Thursday and Friday. 10. Early in the morning with a taxi (1 JD), I go to the headquarters of the Jett Bus Company, located in Amman in Abdali, in King Al Hussein Street, just 1 km northwest of the Abdali square where there was the old bus station and where the flea market still exists on Thursday and Friday.

28. Outside the border there is a minibus waiting for you. You pay for the ticket at the adjacent desk before boarding. (JD 4 per person, including hand baggage plus JD 1.3 for each additional baggage). It covers the 2 km of free zone that separates the Jordanian border from the Israeli one in about 1 hour depending on the time you pass due to the strict controls of Israeli soldiers. (The sooner it goes, the early morning and the less time it takes).

29. Once at the Israeli border, strict checks are passed even for baggage which can last up to an hour. In short, a total of more than 3 hours can be used to cross the Jordanian - Israeli border.

30. Outside the Israeli border you can take the bus to Jerusalem or the bus to Jericho in Palestine. The latter costs 13 Nis (including hand luggage), while the luggage to be loaded in the trunk of the bus costs 3 Nis for each piece.

31. The bus journey from the Israeli border of the King Hussein Bridge to the Jericho Bus Station takes about half an hour.

32. The Jericho Bus Station is located about 1 km south-east of the center and before exiting it you must pass a soft check by the Palestinian Authorities.

34. From the central square of Jericho there are several minibuses a day to Ramallah for the price of 12 Nis. Ticket can be purchased from the driver. The journey takes about 1 hour.

36. There are several buses a day from Ramallah to Jerusalem departing from the Bus Station, located in the city center about 300 meters south of the Main Square called Al Manara. (7.3 Nis One Way. Ticket can be purchased from the driver) It takes a good half hour, passing through the Israeli check point, to get to the old Arab bus station, located in East Jerusalem, on Nablus Rd.

37. I sleep in East Jerusalem at the New Palm Hostel, located 100 meters from the Damascus Gate (50 Nis, including free tea, free internet, breakfast not included);

38. The next morning I take the modern light metro, at the “Damasco Gate” station located about 200 meters from the Damascus gate. (6.6 the ticket for a single journey. Ticket can be purchased using the automatic machines located at each station) which in a few minutes takes me to the Eden Central Bus Station in Jerusalem. Before entering there is the baggage check of the Israeli police force.

58. Haifa being large and dispersed does not lend itself much to being explored on foot.
