Punctual as
never before from the Caravaggio
Airport in Orio al Serio
(Bg) at 14.00 my plane no. FR4642 of the Ryanair Company to the international airport of Bratislava-Ivankaa_Ružinov
(Slovak Republic). Return ticket price including
taxes, with hand luggage only: Euro 69.34.
Food and
drinks are served on the aforementioned aircraft but only for a fee.
Punctual
arrival at 3.25 pm, at the international airport
of Bratislava-Ivankaa_Ružinov (Slovak Republic),
located 9 km
north-east of the center of Bratislava.
When summer
time is in force in Italy,
summer time is also in force in Austria
and the Slovak Republic and therefore there is no time
zone.
To enter
the Slovak Republic
and Austria,
an identity card is sufficient as both countries are within the European
Community and the Shengen area.
Both in Austria and in the Slovak Republic
there is the Euro.
Both in Austria and in the Slovak Republic
many people speak English and all the writings on the road and tourist signs
are well understood.
I rented the
car via the Internet through the Budget Company, at a price of Euro 14.72 per
day (including the compulsory Vignette for driving on the Slovakian Motorways),
for a Skoda with only 1,000
km to the credit. I picked up the car at the
international airport of Bratislava-Ivankaa_Ružinov (Slovak Republic).
The deposit that is retained on your credit card is Euro 800.
Gasoline cost Austria: Euro 1.20 per liter.
Slovak Republic petrol cost: Euro 1,203 per liter.
To travel
on the motorways of Austria
and Slovakia,
the Vignette is mandatory with a different cost depending on the duration. Logically,
it takes a different Vignette for each country (one for Austria and one for Slovakia).
