COME ORGANIZZARE UN TOUR IN PIROGA SUL FIUME SEPIK, IN PAPA NUOVA GUINEA.

Per visitare il Fiume Sepik, ci sono 3 possibilità:

Organizzare tutto per conto proprio. In questo caso i costi sono molto bassi, ma è necessario avere a disposizione una marea di tempo e pazienza in quanto le imbarcazioni che collegano un villaggio all’altro sono poco frequenti e non corrono a orari prestabiliti. Inoltre è necessario avere un’esperienza di viaggio molto elevata in quanto è necessario chiedere i permessi ai vari capi villaggio prima di entrare, scattare fotografie, ect. Insomma questa è una alternativa economica ma di difficile attuazione;
Rivolgersi ad una Guida che ti organizza il Viaggio e che ti accompagna per tutto la durata dello stesso. Questa è una soluzione molto costosa ma la più utilizzata dai viaggiatori;
Affidarsi ad una Agenzia di Viaggio della Papa Nuova Guinea che ti organizza il viaggio dalla A alla Z. Questa è la soluzione più facile ma anche la più costosa e quindi non molto utilizzata dai viaggiatori;

La maggior parte dei viaggiatori sceglie la soluzione numero, 2 affidandosi ad una Guida esperta della zona del Fiume Sepik.

Here i can give you the itinerary and costing for ……………. 4days and 3nights .

Itinerary

Day 1: meet you at the airport on your arrival and transfer to Pagwi then transfer to waiting motorized canoe overnight at Korogo.

Day 2:Depart Korogo visit Palimbe ,Kanganamun,Kararau and overnight at Kamanibit.

Day 3:Visit walindimi Spirit house at Wombu village ,Chambri lake,pottery village of Aibom,Bowie arts center overnight and overnight Kamanibit.

Day 4:Depart Kamanibit visit Yanchen then to Pagwi transfer to your hotel at Wewak end off the trip.

Day 5: Depart to your destination

Cost includes:

Hire car,fuel,food and water,accommodation,entry fee to spirit house,motorized canoe,drive and guide. Cost for 4days 3nights @Pkg 3,000

Tenere in considerazione che la Guida Cyril Tara sebbene applichi un prezzo nettamente più favorevole rispetto a tutte le altre Guide del Sepik River, gode di una cattiva reputazione sul web. Infatti alcuni viaggiatori che si sono affidati a lui hanno poi postato una recensione su internet in cui si lamentavano di essere stati abbandonati a se stessi ancora prima di metà viaggio in quanto Cyril Tana era scomparso con i loro soldi.

Alla fine mi sono affidato alla guida JOHANNES TEVENS DI AMBUTI - TELEFONO: 6757760, E-mail: johannesteven1@gmail.com.

PKG 1.200. Accettano solo contanti. Ho pagato 1.000 PKG, la sera prima della partenza e 200 PGK al termine del Tour insieme a 20 PKG di mancia alla mia guida.

Alla fine Johannes Tevens, ha subappaltato questo Tour di un giorno ad Albert Lumut, il quale ha subappaltato a sua volta a Duglus, che è il proprietario del piccolo Shop di alimentari che è ubicato vicino alla Guesthouse Sangra Guest House a Pagwi, il quale ha demandato ad un suo dipendente che guidava la piroga (aiutato da un ragazzino) e faceva anche da Guida. Egli parlava inglese.

Il Tour in Piroga a motore è iniziato alle 7.00 e terminato alle ore 18.40. E’ andato tutto bene e non ho incontrato alcun intoppo. In un giorno ho visto tutto quello che si possa vedere in un Tour di 4 giorni e 3 notti e precisamente:

1. Villaggio di Korogo sul Medio Fiume Sepik, con la sua Casa dello Spirito il cui ingresso costa 10 PKG;

2. Villaggio di Wombun sul Lago Chambri, con la sua Casa dello Spirito il cui ingresso costa 10 PKG;

3. Villaggio di Abom sul Lago Chambri, dove fanno i vasi in ceramica. Qui non ci sono Case dello Spirito;

4. Villaggio di Kanganaman sul Medio Fiume Sepik, con 2 Case dello Spirito (una vecchia e una nuova) il cui ingresso costa 10 PKG ciascuna. Per raggiungerlo è necessario camminare 5 minuti;

5. Villaggio di Palambei sul Medio Fiume Sepik, con 2 Case dello Spirito (una vecchia e una nuova) il cui ingresso costa 10 PKG ciascuna. Per raggiungerlo è necessario camminare mezz’ora abbondante;

6. Villaggio di Yentche sul Medio Fiume Sepik, con la sua Casa dello Spirito il cui ingresso costa 10 PKG;

7. Villaggio di Suapmeri; sul Medio Fiume Sepik. Qui non ci sono Case dello Spirito; Per raggiungerlo è necessario camminare 5 minuti e attraversare un ponte in legno instabile.

Tenere presente che è importante portare la crema solare per evitare scottature e tenere presente che la zona del Sepik River è altamente malarica.

Per quanto riguarda i costi, logicamente questi possono essere ridotti se si è in più persone e poi, tenendo presente che io ho effettuato il Tour nella stagione secca, se lo si effettua nella stagione delle piogge il costo del carburante (che rappresenta la quota maggiore del viaggio), è nettamente inferiore in quanto il livello delle acque del fiume è nettamente più alto e quindi si riescono ad attuare diverse scorciatoie che consentono di risparmiare un sacco di carburante. Per il mio Tour di un giorno sono stati consumati 96 litri di carburante.
