Keep in mind that if you are heading to Cameroon, you need to get the Exit Stamp on your passport, going to the Bitam Immigration office, located on the main street, in the city center, near the parking of minibuses and collective taxis. The same opens every day at 8.00. Anyone trying to reach the border with Cameroon, without obtaining the exit stamp from Gabon on the Passport, will be sent back to Bitam in the first place of the checks.

From the collective taxi stand and in front of the Bitam Immigration office, collective taxis depart regularly for the City of Akonangui in Cameroon, passing through the Kye-Ossi border post, located a few tens of meters from Equatorial Guinea. The race normally costs 2,000 CFAs, even though they paid 2,500 CFA to me. The same lasts about 1 hour abundant.

Checks on the Gabon side are numerous, for which it is necessary to get off and register and sometimes even show the yellow fever certificate. But no one asked me for money.

Time zone: same time as in Italy, -1h when Italy has daylight saving time.

To enter Cameroon, an entry visa is required for tourism, to be requested at the Embassy of Cameroon in Rome, or at the Consulate of Cameroon in Milan, located in Via Pier Francesco Mola n. 48 (near Viale Certosa and the Monte Stella Park, in the north-west suburbs of Milan), open from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 14.30 to 17.00, Tél: +39 0223181490, E-mail: info @ consolatoonorariocamerunmilano.it,

I presented myself at the Milan Consulate at 12.00 in the morning and immediately handed over the following documentation:

· Passport, which has at least 3 free pages, valid for at least six months and in any case twice the validity period of the visa

· A visa application form, duly completed and signed;

· Two passport photos of the size of 4.5 by 3.5 cm;

· Euro 130.00 in cash;

· Flight booking;

· Hotel reservations, for the entire period of the stay in Cameroon, made through the "Booking.com" website

After two days I went to collect the tourist visa for entry valid for 90 days, from the date on which it is released by the Consulate of Milan, together with the receipt for payment of the Consular Rights.

Languages: French and English are the official languages ​​of the state. 83% of the population lives in regions with a strong Francophone majority, the rest in the two regions with an English-speaking majority.

Religions: Christian (70%), Muslim (20%), animist (10%).

At the Kye-Ossi border post, after registering, I obtained the Cameroon entry stamp.

The collective taxi from Gabon left me at the Bus Station Elegance du Noun in the center of Akonangui in Cameroon. From here they leave when they are full (I waited almost 2 hours), Bus for Yaoundè. The cost of the ticket to be purchased at the desk is 3,500 CFA. The journey takes about 6 and a half hours.

The road is in good condition.

In the section between Akonangui and Ebolowa, there are a lot of checkpoints, where one is sometimes forced to descend. The policemen, always polite, constantly checked my Passport, Visa and Yellow Fever Certificate and asked me some questions about what I was doing there, where I was going, where I came from, how long I stayed, ect, but not they asked me for money.

The bus to Yaoundè ends the race in Blv de l'Ocam, 3 km south of the center of the capital, where I took a collective taxi to Place Ahmadou Ahidjo, near the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories, for the price of 250 CFA .

From there I took a private taxi that took me to the Ideal Hotel, located near Rond-point Nlongkak, in Djoungolo, in the northern outskirts of the capital, at the price of 1,000 CFA.
