Currency
exchange at Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO) is not very favorable.
At the desk
located inside the arrivals hall of the small Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO),
I buy a ticket for Nyköping, which is only 7 km away. The ticket costs 26 SEK. I do 2 (one
for the outward journey and one for the return). The same can also be done by
the driver, but paying only by credit card. The bus n. 515 (one every 40
'during the week, in the central hours, every hour on Saturdays and Sundays and
in the evening) half an hour brings in about 15 minutes first to the railway
station and then to the Nyköping bus station, located a few hundred meters from
the historic center.
I visit the
small and pretty historic center on foot.
Then always
with bus n. 515 return to Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO). If you did not do it
on the way to the airport, you can get it at the Nyköping bus station at a cost
of 26 SEK or from the driver, but paying only by credit card.
At the Desk
located inside the arrivals hall of the small Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO),
I buy a ticket for Stockholm City Terminal, which is 100 km away. The ticket
costs 149 SEK, one way, 259 SEK, round trip, or 248 SEK, return if purchased
over the internet with a credit card. The Flygbussarna bus leaves based on the
arrival of flights and therefore sometimes there are more buses in an hour and
sometimes 4 hours without even a bus. (see timetable put in this post). It
takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Stockholm's Bus City Terminal.
From the Stockholm Bus City Terminal, taking
advantage of the underground connections, in a few minutes I can first reach
the Central Train Station and then the Centralina Metro Station.
At the
Centralina metro station I bought the Day Ticket which costs 135 SEK and is
valid for 24 hours from the moment of first use on the metro, bus and tram.
I sleep at
the Acco Hostel located about 200 meters from the Zinkensdamm metro station.
It costs 160 Sek per night, clean tidy and has a kitchen, free internet tea and
free coffee. There is no reception and therefore you have to pay for everything
via the internet and only then are you assigned the codes to enter the hostel
and dormitory. You either bring the sheets from home or pay for them separately
via the internet. It is not allowed to bring a sleeping bag.
The next
day I take the metro to the central railway station where I take the train to Uppsala, located 60 km north of Stockholm. The ticket has a minimum price of
82 sek, plus the cost of the transaction, if you pay it by credit card at the
machines distributed in the station hall, or 106 sek if you pay it in cash at
the station desk. The train leaves on average once every 45 minutes and it
takes about an hour to reach Uppsala.
Uppsala can be easily explored on foot.
I return to
Stockholm with
the same train mentioned above.
Stockholm gets around very well on foot using
public transport to the most distant places.
I then go
back to Stockholm City Terminal where I take the aforementioned bus that takes
me back to Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO).
Ryanair
