Report Travel Gabon Part I: Libreville.

Flight of the Turkish Airlines Company from Malpensa to Libreville (Gabon), with a stopover at Istanbul Airport (Turkey) and a technical stopover at Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo). (price of the multi-ticket ticket included from Malpensa to Libreville (Gabon) and from Cotonou (Benin) to Malpensa: Euro 593.09).

While I was checking in at Malpensa Airport and before boarding the one in Istanbul, I was asked by the E-visa for Gabon.

Time zone: same time as in Italy, -1h when Italy has daylight saving time.

Entry visa: necessary, to be requested from the diplomatic / consular offices of Gabon present in Italy or abroad. It is possible to request an entry visa online and collect it upon arrival at Libreville airport. Consult the website: https://evisa.dgdi.ga/, where it is necessary to enter the travel data, upload the passport and a passport photo. No online payment is required. Thus, after about 7 or 10 days, the E-VISA is received, to be printed and presented at Libreville Airport (Gabon), where, after presenting the Yellow fever booklet, taking fingerprints, being photographed and paying 85 euros in cash (the rest you get in CFA), you get the actual visa on the passport and the entry stamp. In theory the Authorities should ask you for the Hotel booking but in my case this has not happened.

In Gabon the official language is French and therefore very few speak English.

Religions: Christianity, Islam and animism; sometimes also a syncretism with an animist vocation of the different confessions.

At the Leon Mba International Airport in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, there are several counters for changing the currency, but since I landed at about 11.00 pm they were all closed so I exchanged money with a newsagent with the following exchange rate: 1 Euro = 680 CFA.

From the Leon Mba International Airport of Libreville, capital of Gabon, located about 5 km north of the city center, to reach it you need to take a taxi for the price of 5,000 CFA. The journey takes about 15 minutes.

In Libreville, I stayed at the Hotel Edenia, booked through Booking, (phone: +241 02 56 30 30, Email: edeniahotelgabon@gmail.com), located in 72 Rue Damas Aleka, 2 km scarce south of the center, not far away from the coast and 50 mt. from the Okinda Clinic, for the price of 50 Euros, for a double room with air conditioning, hot water, gigantic bathroom in the room, wifi and abundant breakfast.

From the Okinda Clinic, I took a collective taxi that took me past the Libreville Presidential Palace for the price of 500 CFA. I had the feeling of taking a jab.

From the Musée des Arts et Traditions, I took a collective taxi that took me to the Okinda Libreville Clinic for the price of 500 CFA. I had the feeling of taking a jab.
